 The clouds were beautiful most days of August. And other things were scarce. So I took a lot of cloud photos this month.

 Dragon Truck: Trucks remain interesting. Some like this one have great art on them.

 Gion Beauty: And some trucks have wild things on them. The translation of the words is not certain, but.... With a young man in a stylish work jacket in the sudden rain of a Gion orchestra, wet, an enchanting evening.

 Browning Trees: There is a bug that causes the trees to dry up, and it is spreading. I saw a few brown trees last year. They are common this year. The spread of the bug is thought to be a result of climate warming and of ageing trees.

 Crow: It was on the little road through the woods when I came by. I stopped because I thought it was injured. It first got onto the rocks by the fence. But when I got close, it flew up onto the fence. No sign of injury. But it wouldn’t move. I tried to encourage it to go into the woods by touching its tail. It just turned around to face me. It seemed to be suffering heat exhaustion, hence its mouth is open in the photo with my finger. I couldn't do anything for -- no container for water -- so I talked to it for awhile trying to convince it to stay out of the road. I went back the next day. No dead crow anywhere, so it seems to have survived.

 Cicada: It was on its back near the tree next to me in the park. I helped it up and tried to put on the tree, but it seemed to like my finger. I did finally get it to go onto the tree. Sad, but it was striving hard to live through what was probably its last day.
